Review: Le Dragon

Le Dragon has been on my list of places to try for years. Literally. I just haven’t gotten to it since 1) there are so many restaurants in Dakar, 2) I am a creature of habit. But its reputation is solid and the history of this Vietnamese restaurant that first opened in Dakar in 1957 intrigues me.

So when my friend asked me to help her choose a restaurant for date night and Le Dragon was on her shortlist, I pushed her to try it. Here’s her review below… and now I really know I want to eat there soon!

“So thumbs up to Le Dragon – good service and really copious amounts of fresh, tasty food. We did the menu typique for 17,000 CFA a head – it was so much food. Two huge nems, an enormous bowl of vermicelli soup, a large portion of Cantonese rice with our choice of main – I went for poulet caramel… so delicious – and fruit beignets for dessert with jasmine tea. Way more than we could eat. Next time would probably just do a shared started and main dish. But was a good way to try a bit of everything!”
