Recipe inspired by Shawn DeAtley
1.5 liters of water
2 handfuls dried bissap flowers, rinsed well
sugar to taste (lots!)
10-15 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks OR 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Place the bissap and water in a large saucepan. Cover and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit five minutes. Strain out the bissap.
Add sugar and flavorings to the bissap. Simmer at least 15 minutes before serving.
