The Desserts of Mister Gueye

A delicious guest post by Pape of The Desserts of Mister Gueye. Find him on Facebook here.

I have a few announcements to make. Three to be precise.

1 – New Products!

I have a new flavour cheesecake for the menu: Mbouraké.

Mbourake Cheesecake

Mbourake is a traditional Senegalese treat that is made of peanut butter, pain perdu and sugar. The ingredients are mixed and crushed into granules that can be eaten by itself or with other things. This peanut butter ‘breadcrumb’ work interestingly with the creaminess of the cake. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or yoghurt.

And my second item on the menu is Spiced Scottish Shortbread.

Shortbread

These sweet, slightly salted and buttery biscuits are my favourite so I decided to add them to the menu to share with you all. They’re a great snack to have on the go. Alternatively, you can crush them up into a fruit salad to give a bit of crunch. Prices and quantity will be up soon.

2 – I’ll be sitting in Layu Café more often

From the new year, I will make it a practice to sit in Layu Café on certain days of the week to take in orders. If you would like me to meet you somewhere to discuss an order, please phone or email me. More details to follow.

3 – A Big Thank You

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you that have shown interest in my desserts. I really appreciate it and I hope I can work much harder for you in the New Year.

Well that’s all from me. I hope you all have a Happy New Year and I shall see you all in January!
