I got this in an email from my friend A. recently:
We went downtown and had the best hamburger in Senegal at Time’s Café. If you haven’t eaten there yet, you have to make a trip out there. It is the closest thing to an American hamburger I’ve had in a year and a half.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? Any other burgers of note out there?

The French Cultural Center has amazing burgers. They are only on the lunch menu though (sometimes if there is a “special event” they serve the lunch menu at night as well). I am drooling just thinking about one… must get to Dakar soon!
My friends ordered a burger at Times Cafe today. It was completely America n – plain, normal-sized patty (not a sliver encased in egg), no fries inside. Fries were hot, crisp, and unsoggy.
